🚀 Calling all high schoolers…

Are you looking for some college prep that will actually get you ready to think critically?

Our brand new Science Fiction unit is here, and it’s created specifically for high school students. This unique study dives into how the genre of sci-fi explores bigger themes of philosophy and theology while walking through one core novel.

Meet our very first high school only novel study with one core theme: science fiction is a playground for authors to explore the big questions of philosophy and theology. This unit is one of a kind and applicable whether your student is interested in sci fi or not. It checks off boxes for theology, philosophy, and even British Lit, all upper level topics that look great on a transcript.

Students will study Out of the Silent Planet by C. S. Lewis and see these themes in action. With only one book written directly to students, this study includes daily teaching pages, vocabulary, context, and reading assignments.

After reading, students complete worksheets that focus on understanding complex quotes, reflecting on personal meaning and application, and following elements of the story such as character development and plot. The second page includes teaching done in a never before seen style, with teaching right on the page and questions that students highlight as they read. No extra research required.

Students end the unit with a final project, either writing their own science fiction piece or completing a book report on the novel.

If you’re ready to go deeper than you thought you could and learn to think like a college student from a Biblical worldview, this is such a meaningful opportunity. For a little taste of what you can expect, snag the free sample here and let’s go bravely into the unknown… together.
