You may remember that we recently did a little refresh of Ready to Read 1, the first book in our full year Kindergarten through Grade 1 program. We are continuing our way through the series and today we get to announce that book 2 is now finished as well. Allow us to introduce to you the new and improved Ready to Read: At the Pond! What we changed: First up on the new list, is that we tweaked the design a bit to make the fonts and colors match our new feel, redid some illustrations, and added in some new student pages. The biggest change is that our daily Bible Connection section was rewritten, with each age-appropriate devotional tying directly into the content from the lesson, allowing even the youngest learners to see how everything points to God. Lastly, we have combined our student book A and B into one simple student book to make it easier to use all around! This did mean that we had to remove some of our cutouts in the back, but these are still available in our online resources for free! Before you panic: We didn’t change how it works, It is still the same program that you guys have loved over the years. You are still able to use your old books if you prefer, and yes, if you purchased digital, we are updating your files for free (something we said we would not do for such a major revamp). This new refresh is what we are basing our brand new on-demand video course off of, so that will be coming soon to our Online Academy. I hope this helps to give you some peace and maybe a bit of excitement as we continue to work through this series. We do have plans to do the same thing with Letters and Numbers, updating our Early Learning series before we move into our brand new Ready to Write Grade 2 transitionary program! Exciting things are on the horizon!
Are You New to Ready to Read?If you haven’t heard of this program, you’re missing out! Ready to Read is part of our Kindergarten/Grade 1 series and is one of our best sellers! There are 4 levels that are 9 weeks long (36 weeks total), and each one will take your child on an adventure of learning about different animals and the environments they live in. In book 2, At the Pond, your student will explore the fascinating world of pond habitats, from insects and plants to the animals that live there. Ready to Read covers all subjects, including math, with short, engaging lessons and hands-on activities your kids will love. The reading portion of this second installment focuses on three-letter words, word families, sight words, consonant blends, digraphs, and fluency in reading. Math pages introduce big-picture concepts like place value, money, and time. This series is loads of fun, and there is a reason why young learners LOVE this program.

Is what I'm doing enough? Let's take a moment for a little disclaimer lest this is taken out of context and someone accuses me of a works-based salvation doctrine—something I am emphatically not saying. I am not asking this question about salvation, but rather about my focus and priorities. As a homeschooler, my "enough" gauge is all about what and how much, baselines and improvements. As a mom, it is about connection and discipline, my children's character and the peace in our home. As a...
Alright, lets talk. This past weekend, Jonathan and I took our teens and some of their friends to a youth conference in Atlanta (if you don't follow me on socials, go check out some footage we got here). All I can say is, this generation is hungry. They worshipped, they wept, they prayed for one another . . . they were there for it. I have been getting asked, "In just a short conference, is there really any change that will come from it?" I get it, the big flashy conferences with all the hype...
Obviously from my email last week, you have a pretty good idea that I'm asking a lot of questions right now. I'm evaluating priorities, I'm considering the cost, and I'm doing a whole lot of listening. I don't know what else to say other than that I feel the fear of the Lord over everything I do right now. How much time am I spending on my phone? What am I saying yes to? What am I saying no to? Did I ask the Lord? Flippancy is slowly dying over here as I find myself swung into extreme...
