Obviously from my email last week, you have a pretty good idea that I'm asking a lot of questions right now. I'm evaluating priorities, I'm considering the cost, and I'm doing a whole lot of listening. I don't know what else to say other than that I feel the fear of the Lord over everything I do right now. How much time am I spending on my phone? What am I saying yes to? What am I saying no to? Did I ask the Lord? For years, I've heard the cry of "revival". I don't know about you, but it definitely feels these days like we are in a dry and desert land. We need God to come and move on our generation—on our children's generation. A few years ago, I had the incredible privilege of studying some of the greatest revivals in history for our Renaissance and Revival unit and I saw an undeniable pattern. Nearly every revival I looked at was marked by repentance. Not just a little tear in the corner of my eye kind of repentance, but "cut to the very heart" snot-sobbing on the floor kind of repentance. They were marked by the fear of the Lord. There is a Cost Like Dory on Finding Nemo, this is the phrase that keeps going through my head over and over again: there is a cost to revival. It will cost our pride. It will cost our flippancy. It will cost our constant need for entertainment. I keep hearing the words to the lukewarm church in Laodicea: "purchase salve for your eyes, so that you may see" (Revelation 3:18). I'm calling into question every book we read, every reel we watch (every reel I make), every curriculum resource we use . . . everything we bring into our house. Good isn't good enough. I want what is pure. I want pure voices speaking into my marriage, my home, and the minds and hearts of my children. No more compromise. Anyways, morning thoughts from a serious me. I will be going live today and as I was praying about it, I felt like this is what I should talk about. If you want to continue the conversation, come on over and join me on Facebook or the app at 1:30pm EST. Calling all the hungry ones, the dissatisfied, the weary, and the distracted . . . I'm raising the alarm. Oh yeah . . . I guess we run a businessIf you want it, here is a list of some news, releases, and more that you might want to check out. |

I'm tired—bone weary tired—of algorithms and hooks and scripts and AI generated content that is so predictable it feels downright condescending. I'm sick of striving—losing sleep at night that I have to somehow find the key to growth and sustainability. I'm irritated with the back-patting reels that are just saying what people want to hear, they all tell the same story: Growth is simple—you're just missing this one easy hack that I'll give you for a comment, for a follow, for a small fee. The...
Homeschooling is changing. More specifically, it's diversifying. I'm not just talking about the change from it being a primarily Christian movement to becoming more mainstream . . . I'm talking about different walks and needs entirely. It used to be a Gideon's remnant: the few who felt called to do something different. Now, more people are homeschooling than ever before—ones who never would have thought it was possible. Some where both parents work full time to make it doable in this economy....
