We have a new drop coming at you guys this morning. Our next state is here… welcome to Kentucky. If you have been following along our journey across the Fifty States, or if you are just thinking about giving it a try, this is a great state to jump into. Let me give you a quick breakdown of how it works. Student books are broken into 3 levels. Level one is pre-reader to early reader, level 2 is early elementary to upper elementary, and level 3 is middle school to high school. It is designed to be completed in 4 days and covers all your subjects. You just add math. So are you wondering what you will learn about in this beautiful state? A lot. This state is full of tradition and community, with deep limestone caves and rolling bluegrass fields. Indigenous Peoples like the Shawnee, Cherokee, and Chickasaw lived all across the region’s wilderness, as did Daniel Boone. Your students will get to explore places like Red River Gorge, the Kentucky Horse Park, and the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory. In the student books, some activities include mapping, lesson summaries, the science of chewing gum, Noah’s Ark, mimicry defenses, Model Ts, and the Kentucky Derby.
Each lesson is packed with so much wonder and knowledge. It makes learning geography, history, and language arts more engaging because there are stories, experiences, and deep history tied into every lesson. IN OTHER NEWSOur newest YouTube video dropped over on our Gather 'Round YouTube page. If you are new here, just starting out, or maybe have been here a while but need a little more understanding, go check it out. I walk through what Is Inside a Gather Round Unit (what you actually get), breaking it down clearly and simply. Keep your eyes peeled because we have another video dropping soon. We are going live on Thursday, April 9 at 1 PM EST to give you all the details about the Online Academy 2026/2027 school year, and this will be big. There is so much to share, and I think you will be really excited about what is coming. You must register to save your seat, as spots are limited.
I hope to see you there, |

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about my old reviewing days because for years, I would receive homeschool curriculum and do comparison overviews and I really thought I was helping. But the more I’ve stepped back from that, the more I’ve realized something I didn’t expect . . . I think it was actually making things harder. Instead of helping people be confident in their choices, I was showing a million different options like sauntering down the aisles of Wal-mart. It kept us searching for...
This brand new unit in Modular Math is all about building a strong, confident understanding of multiplication, starting from the very beginning and growing with your student every step of the way. Students begin by learning multiplication as repeated addition and building equal groups. From there, they move into arrays, number lines, and multiplication facts, giving them a solid foundation that actually makes sense. As students move up, they’ll explore multiplication with decimals, integers,...
It all ends tonight . . . Over the last couple of days, I've seen how excited families are once they open up their Legacy Pass and see what it actually means. I can't help but be struck by fact that this is about so much more than curriculum. This is a movement of families who are looking for more than "information stuffing". We are looking for conversations, understanding, and a generation of young people who can think for themselves and lead us to wisdom. A few years back, I was asked to...
