Who’s excited to start our adventure through the Canadian provinces? Our very first province in this brand new series is ready for its debut — British Columbia is officially kicking things off! This has been a highly anticipated unit for many of you, especially our fellow Canadians. In this mini but mighty unit, you’ll spend just 4 days diving deep into this spectacular province. It covers all your subjects - you just add math (which you can check out here). You’ll discover both the hidden and not-so-hidden gems of British Columbia. We’ll travel through towering mountains and old-growth forests, all the way to Vancouver Island and Pacific Rim National Reserve. We’ll wander through historic Barkerville and journey to the remote archipelago of Haida Gwaii, rich with stories and tradition. Along the way, you’ll explore the province’s diverse people groups, the legacy of the fur trade and fishing industry, and how tourism continues to shape the economy today. You’ll dive into inspiring stories like Terry Fox and learn about unique wildlife such as the white Spirit Bear and the Steller’s Jay. We are so excited for you to begin learning about this beautiful province.
